Q: Are you a collection agency?
A: We are not a collection agency. Collection agencies process pre-judgment debts in bulk, and are hired to collect someone else’s debt. They send out letters and call debtors to try to get them to pay. We, on the other hand, are a debt recovery company. We contract for Judgments and debt from individuals or companies that are owed money, and then enforce the debt as the legal owner.

Q. What type of Judgments and debt do you contract for?
A. Judgment Recovery of Alaska LLC contracts for Civil Court Judgments in Alaska. We will consider contracting for Judgments in other states on a case by case basis.

Q. Why assign my judgment to you? I can collect it myself.
A: Enforcing a judgment is hard work. It is time consuming and expensive. If it was easy, you would have already collected, right? Truth be told, we have no idea whether or not we can collect the debt prior to our assignment. We do, however, have the resources (legally and financially) to aggressively pursue the Debtor. In addition to attorney’s fees, costs to enforce a Judgment may run upwards of $3,000 for a levy on a vehicle, $500 for a levy on real estate, and $250.00 for a bank account or wage garnishment. Of course, before you bear these additional collection costs, you must first locate the debtors’ asset.

Q. Why should I choose Judgment Recovery of Alaska LLC?
A. The reason to choose Judgment Recovery of Alaska is simply because it doesn’t cost the Plaintiff any out of pocket expense to perform the recovery.  JRA shoulders the burden of all expenses and works with you on a contingency basis.

Q. Will you contract for my Judgment? What forms are needed?
A: We do not contract every Judgment. Each Judgment is assessed, and a value is placed on it, based on many factors including the amount and age of the Judgment, as well as the location of the debtor. Should we decide to contract for your Judgment, we will send you an "Assignment of Judgment” and a “Bill of Sale”. Both forms must be notarized and the originals returned to our office.

Q: How much will it cost me?

A: It costs you absolutely nothing. We contract with you on a contingency fee in exchange for the Assignment of your debt or Judgment. This means the paper is put into our company name, which permits us to take action.

Q: How quickly will I get paid?
A: Our procedure is to collect the judgment from the defendant, process the proceeds and distribute the percentage agreed to our client immediately.

Q. I have a Judgment from overseas, not in US dollars. Will you contract for it?
A: Sorry, you will have to find a debt buyer or attorney in the country where the Judgment is entered. Our company only buys U.S. Judgments.

Q. What should I do now?
A: Send an email to info@judgmentrecoveryalaska.com or call 888-806-2690. Our staff will be happy to answer any questions, and will provide a confidential, no-cost assessment of your judgment.
